Next week is Inman Real Estate Connect in SF, also known as “The Brad Inman Fund Raiser”…. I kid..I kid.
I’m looking forward to the conference and being in San Francisco.
Looks like Brad and his team have put together another great agenda. I’m stoked to see Merlin Mann I enjoy his blog and look forward to hearing what he has to say. The Blogger’s Connect agenda looks promising too.
Also what struck me as interesting is Sherry Chris’s new BH&G franchise is “officially” launching. I’ve been following their blog and you can sense the great spirit of starting something new. Something I am totally in tune with as well. This industry needs new and aggressive companies to lead the charge. Good Luck to Sherry and her team!
There are a bunch of parties going on all over the city. If you’ve got something to announce feel free to post a comment or send me an email at vendor.alley@gmail.com and I’ll put up a post.
Follow us at www.twitter.com/vendoralley to get the latest of all after parties and events going on in the city.
See you there!
Well, we didn’t get much time to report from the show, it is Vegas after all. So we’ll just hit you with a wrap up.
RE/MAX International put on a good show at its 35th anniversary convention in Las Vegas this year. Dave Liniger dropped from the ceiling in a basket with Las Vegas showgirls at the convention’s general session. Attendance reports were mixed. We heard they had close to 6,000 attend. This was much better attendance than all other franchise shows, so the “Vegas factor” was in full effect.
Once surprising stat I heard at the show was that a full third of RE/MAX attendees were “international”. Meaning if your product was in English and only worked in the U.S. then you didn’t do too well. So, you do the math.
One of the many great things about RE/MAX is how they treat their vendors. This event is no different, whether its access to agents, reasonsable booth policies or free ice cream they really go out of their way to make sure everyone feels welcome.
If you’re in South Florida later this month send me an email (vendor.alley at gmail dot com) and I’ll add you to the list.
Deadline for entry is this Friday, January 18th.

“This magnificent course and facility opened in March of 1996 and has become the site of the Honda Classic. Mark McCumber says that “there are eighteen signature holes on this course.” On a flat site with no topographical relief, McCumber moved one million cubic yards of dirt to create this solid test for professionals and novices alike. The fairways are generous, but the driving zones are pinched by sizable bunkers. The large greens are slightly undulating and well protected by sand. Water comes into play on only three holes, and there are 109 bunkers in the design.”
Cost:
$120 per person
Club rental: $50
The Prize:
The golfer with the lowest score will be able to keep the “Vendor Cup” until the next tournament.
Each year the winner of the Vendor Cup will be inscribed upon the cup.
I saw this in on one of the comments and thought it deserved it’s own post….
Frontier Casino is scheduled for implosion tonight at 2:00 AM (that’s Tuesday morning). The Clareity Suite at the Wynn (room 1801 in the Tower Suites) has an amazing view of the good old Frontier.
Please join us from 1:00 AM to 2:30 AM for cocktails in our suite to watch this once glorious casino meets its demise.
RSVP to troy.rech@clareitysecurity.com so we have a count.
I would say BYOB but would probably be scathed about being ‘cheap’ so we will provide the refreshments.
Vegas Baby! Only 5 days left. Is your liver ready????
We land in Vegas on Monday so that’s when all the fun begins.
Vendor Alley will be giving all the sights, sounds, and smells that is NAR EXPO 2007.
What big announcements will be made? I know one, but I can’t tell you now! You’ll have to wait until Monday (heehee). Any big deals? Anyone getting fired or hired? Are ______ and ________ still a couple?
Vendor Alley will be your resource to find out what’s what at the show. If you have any news to share please feel free to post or email us at vendor.alley@gmail.com.
And remember the first rule of trade shows… Never go big on the first night!
Another sign budgets are tightening. Looks like Marketlinx (always one of the great industry parties) are saying no to outside vendors. A lot of us were sent invites to their annual “Customer Hospitality Event”, then when we dutifully RSVPed to the event an email reply came back stating….
“Because the party is for our customers and event sponsors only, and the fact that the event is officially full, I am unable to extend tickets to other vendors. Passes will not be available under your name. Sorry.”
So as a service to Marketlinx we are going to help them keep all other real estate vendors away from their party.
Here’s the location of the party so you know to KEEP AWAY! Do not under any circumstances crash this party!!!
*****Party Address removed 11/11/07 per GL’s request.*******
