Where Real Estate Gets Its Dirt

Triangle MLS selects ShowingTime

TRIANGLE MLS, INC. SELECTS THE SHOWINGTIME APPOINTMENT CENTER

““ShowingTime’s advanced technology will be a great resource for our subscribers,” said Tessa Hultz, CEO at TMLS. “The ShowingTime Appointment Center is a service that aligns with our vision to provide subscribers with the most innovative tools available. We’ve been using MarketStats from ShowingTime for several years and have greatly benefited from the predictive analytics it provides, which will now include showing data for our market area. It just made sense to select ShowingTime.”

ShowingTime’s showing-related products and services – which improve efficiency by streamlining the appointment scheduling process – are used to schedule more than four million showings per month in 190+ MLSs across the U.S. and Canada representing 900,000+ real estate professionals.”

And according to the press release this is the 33rd MLS they signed up just this year for its showing management and market stats product. Super impressive. Hats off to Mike and his team.

ReferralExchange

My thanks for ReferralExchange for sponsoring Vendor Alley. ReferralExchange is an Agent-to-Agent and consumer-direct real estate referral service. Here are some interesting tidbits about the network:

– Invite-only network. Must be recruited to join.
– 17,000 agents currently in the network, 100% zip code coverage
– Most agents in the network have 8 years experience (minimum of 3 years and 20 transactions/$5 million per year to even be recruited)
– Majority of agents have been in the network for 5+ years
– Agents come from all leading national and boutique brokerages nationwide

I gotta say I love this business model. Freaking genius. They also recently got a nice shout out in Steve Murray’s REAL Trends newsletter.

Rapattoni & MetroList Services first to implement RESO Data Dictionary 1.3

I must have missed this last week.

Rapattoni Implements First RESO Data Dictionary Certification with MetroList Services, Inc.

Brian Tepfer, Chief Technology Officer at Rapattoni, said, “The RESO Data Dictionary is commonly referred to as the Rosetta Stone for real estate data because it ensures that each MLS system speaks the same language, using a common standard that defines all data in consistent terms. Establishing this common standard represents a significant achievement for the industry. We’re thankful to MetroList for leading the charge and we’re excited to be the first MLS vendor to provide our customers with Data Dictionary 1.3 compatibility.”

“The standardized mapping of data and delivery of these fields will assist us in releasing products and services to our participants and subscribers,” said Rick Trevino, IT Director of MetroList. “We are looking forward to our first RETS Data Dictionary integration and this accomplishment could not have occurred without the expertise and hard work of Rapattoni’s RETS team.”

Pretty cool. Kudos to Rapattoni and MetroList Services. I kind feel that Standards are like the 4 minute mile. Once someone breaks it, then the rest will follow. It just needs to be shown that it can be done.

Happy Holidays Everyone!

2014 has been an exciting year in real estate and it’s been fun covering it. While I haven’t been posting much lately I’m going to be firing on all cylinders this coming January.

Next Generation of Housing Analytics Launched with SmartCharts from RBI

Mid-Atlantic Real Estate Professionals Now Access Enhanced Market Information with the New SmartCharts Platform

ROCKVILLE, MD (June 25, 2014)—MRIS, the industry-leading Mid-Atlantic Multiple Listing Service (MLS) that facilitates nearly $125 million a day in real estate transactions, announced today that its subsidiary, RealEstate Business Intelligence (RBI), has launched its new market information platform, SmartCharts, and expanded its rbiEXPERT premium version as SmartCharts Pro.

SmartCharts are created from the most accurate housing data available – MLS data, and are delivered in simple, easy-to-understand charts and reports. In addition to the slick new look and feel, RBI has added many new features to help Mid-Atlantic region real estate professionals understand their market inside out, including:

· Over three times the market statistics: The expansion of statistics from 10 to 37 will further help consumers and professionals understand how long it may take to buy or sell, current price trends, success rates and more.

· More ways to compare: The explore feature is revamped to offer more metrics to compare locations, including subdivisions, and market trends over time.

· Historical data: Customers can view back 10 years to get more context of before, during and after the housing bubble in a particular area.

SmartCharts makes it easy for real estate professionals to show their clients and prospects exactly what’s happening with pricing, sales, time on market and other points of interest. These charts and graphs can be embedded on websites, posted on social media or shared with prospective clients.

“The number one thing that homebuyers and sellers want to know is ‘How’s the market in our local area?’ and at RBI we are dedicated to providing agents with the most comprehensive tools to answer that question,” said Jonathan Hill, President at RBI. “With the launch of the revamped SmartCharts, we dramatically improved our application by adding a multitude of new market information and features that allow our customers to position themselves as the market authority for their area.”

As of today, RBI statistics will be moving from www.rbintel.com/statistics to www.getsmartcharts.com/statistics. If you are not a current rbiEXPERT customer, you will be prompted to register in order to access free stats. If you are an existing rbiEXPERT customer, your current username and password will be valid on the new site.

In addition to SmartCharts Pro, rbiBROKER is now SmartCharts for Brokers and provides powerful insights into agent productivity and competitive market reports. To learn more about SmartCharts, SmartCharts Pro or SmartCharts for Brokers and to get all of the housing stats for the Mid-Atlantic, please visit http://www.getsmartcharts.com.
