Where Real Estate Gets Its Dirt

Event: Reign

I’ve got an inside scoop about a new real estate conference. It’s called Reign and brought to you by Sisu.

Reign is the newest real estate industry conference that’s geared towards teams. The content is all about leadership, building and maintaining a productive culture, and ultimately growing and scaling businesses.

The event will feature top industry speakers like Verl Workman, Brett Tanner and Vija Williams, attendees can learn from those who have already done what they’re setting out to do. Beyond industry guests on stage, Reign will host a retired SEAL Team leader who has definitely seen some shit. His name is Matthew Werner and he’s led some of the most sensitive missions throughout the globe – some of which you have seen and others that have not been seen in the media.

But to be honest one of the biggest reasons I’m promoting this is because former W+R Studios alumna, Frances Wiseman is the Director of Marketing at Sisu. I know a lot of you know Frances so I’m hoping you can show her some love by promoting this event to agents and brokers at your MLS or brokerage. Maybe in an email, calendar, or MLS login screen 😁

The event runs September 28-30 so don’t delay! Let’s get the word out!

Thanks.

Double booked!

It’s been a hell of 3 weeks. Inman Connect NYC, RESO Spring Conference, and this week a double whamo, NAR Midyear (after a two-year hiatus), and the T3 Summit in San Antonio. It’s a shame they are landing in the same week. I blame NAR for that, just like I blame them for booking their iOi Summit on the same days as CMLS 2022. Lamesauce.

John
Jessica

Many companies I’ve spoken to are splitting teams. At Lone Wolf we have John Warner and Jessica Richardson hosting meetings at NAR Midyear for our MLS Team. If you want to meet, don’t be shy and reach out to them.

I’m heading to the T3 Summit in San Antonio, so I hope to see some of you there as well. Travel safe everyone!

NEW – Industry Relations – Inman Connect Pre-Show

This week on Industry Relations Rob and Greg pre-game for the upcoming Inman Connect conference in New York City. Greg will be attending and we make predictions on who is going to be there, what everyone will be talking about, and what kind of vendors he will see. The duo will be having a post-Inman Connect show once Greg returns home so watch this episode and see how much we suck at predictions!

San Diego 2015

Just like any startup, W+R Studios had a ping pong table at our Main Street office in Huntington Beach.  I was pretty good, a few others in our office were decent but by far the best ping pong player we had was our CFO, Karl Ziegler.  Karl lived in Boulder CO, but would visit the office about twice a quarter.  Nobody could beat Karl.

We were brainstorming one year about what we could do to attract attention to our booth at the upcoming NAR Annual Expo in San Diego (this was 2015) and either Shane or Damon came up with the idea of having a contest for agents to come to our booth and try to beat Karl at ping pong for a free subscription to the Cloud Agent Suite.  I thought it was brilliant!  So thus the “BEAT KARL” campaign began.  We did mock video interviews with Karl, a workout routine video, and a walk-on video for the booth. I had so much fun putting the campaign together.

Karl was a good sport (although he hated the white shorts I picked out for him) and I think his record at the end of the show was something insane like 93 -4.  Below is a video reel we put together for Karl for a farewell dinner we hosted for him when he left Lone Wolf earlier this year. The mock interview in the middle is hilarious.

Looking forward to seeing everyone this week.

If you are reading this Karl. Love you man. #MLKLLG

CMLS 2021 Preview

I can’t believe it’s almost here. CMLS 2021. Next week. Vegas. It’s hard to imagine.

Yeah, I understand the concerns. There’s a surge going on. You have to wear masks. Blah. Blah. Blah.

First thing, if you are vaccinated, then you’ll be fine. It’s that simple.

Masks. Lame. Yeah, I’ve grown tired of wearing them too. But I’m also used to them, I’m one of those guys when I’m coming back from the grocery store I forget to take it off when I’m driving home. Here’s the other thing. I was recently in Las Vegas and in the areas where you are drinking (think lobby bar) and eating (think dinner) they aren’t as strict. If there wasn’t already enough motivation to hit the lobby bar, there you have it.

Most of all I’m looking forward to catching up with all of you. We’ve all got a lot to discuss, and I’m looking forward to it.

If you want to meet with Katie and me at the event we’ve got a big ‘ole suite and would love to tell you about what Lone Wolf is up to. Just email Katie or I and we will find the time.

See you soon!

FirstMLS and ARA open up virtual trade show to all agents

Atlanta REALTORS® Virtual “Showcase 2020”

“The 20th year of Showcase, the Southeast’s premier residential Real Estate Trade Show, is scheduled to be held VIRTUALLY, on August 27, 2020. The Trade Show will bring together REALTORS®, real estate professionals and affiliated industries on a single day. The one day show will feature a broad selection of essential industry seminars from national and regional speakers, industry items, services, and business tools.”

I thought this was pretty smart. Many of these local trade shows get good speakers and have great content, so now that they are virtual, why not invite all agents?
