Where Real Estate Gets Its Dirt

Industry Relations Podcast: Opendoor Exclusives and Why MLS Providers Should Lean Toward YES

On this episode, Rob and Greg discuss Opendoor and the “Game of Homes” – should you be able to sell and buy a home as easily as you can sell and buy things on other websites like Amazon? Opendoor’s new approach could cause some waves in the industry as they appear to be removing certain hurdles that for years have impeded the home buying and selling process. Does the MLS industry need to change, and could Opendoor be the catalyst for that change? Rob and Greg break it all down in this heated discussion!

Inman tackles real estate lawsuits

Andrea Brambila of Inman News is covering the current lawsuits plaguing the industry right now…

This is the first part in a week-long series examining the high stakes and potential impact of two closely watched federal lawsuits — the so-called Moehrl and Sitzer cases — taking direct aim at how homebuyers pay commissions. Check back on Wednesday for the plaintiffs’ case for class-action status in the far larger Moehrl lawsuit, and on Thursday, Inman dives into the real-world impact these cases could have on millions of real estate agents.

Below are links to the first and second installments. Andrea does a great job of breaking down what’s been happening (based on recently released documents) and from the looks of it will dive deeper into what the consequences may bring.

MLSListings Live featuring Cloud MLX and Cloud Streams

It’s been a while since I’ve been able to demo our products. But, luckily and I was given the opportunity by the folks at MLSListings, on their MLSListings LIVE YouTube channel. I think it came out pretty good. We’ve added a few enhancements over the past couple of years and are super proud of these products.

Patrick Dodd was officially named CoreLogic CEO

CoreLogic Names Patrick Dodd CEO

“Charles Davis, CEO of Stone Point Capital, said, “We are thrilled that Pat is assuming the role of CEO on a permanent basis. Pat has demonstrated his dedication to the company following his role as CoreLogic’s chief operating and growth officer and holds almost three decades of proven leadership and value creation in the information services industry. We look forward to continuing to work with Pat as CoreLogic advances its strategic priorities.”

From what I’m hearing is that Pat has been actively reaching out and meeting with MLS clients personally, in person. Which I think is a first for a CoreLogic CEO. He and the entire CorLogic executive leadership team was at CoreLogic Client Summit. Another first.

So far I like this guy’s style.

eWebinar Partners with REACH Program to Help Real Estate Tech Startups Scale Agent Onboarding and Training

“Many tech vendors have grown accustomed to offering live webinars because they’re extremely effective and customers love the personal touch – but those come with major hurdles. Someone always has to be available to run those webinars, which is exhausting and not always possible for companies with limited resources.”

Great news. The thing about eWebinar is that you need to try it before you fully understand how it can change your business. Follow the link below to find out more.
